Center group dominance in quark confinement

چکیده
Abstract We show that the color N dependent area law falloffs of double-winding Wilson loop averages for SU(N) lattice gauge theory obtained in preceding works are reproduced from corresponding Abelian with center group ZN . This result indicates dominance quark confinement.

Abelian Magnetic Monopole Dominance in Quark Confinement
We prove Abelian magnetic monopole dominance in the string tension of QCD. Abelian and monopole dominance in low energy physics of QCD has been confirmed for various quantities by recent Monte Carlo simulations of lattice gauge theory. In order to prove this dominance, we use the reformulation of continuum Yang-Mills theory in the maximal Abelian gauge as a deformation of a topological field th...
متن کاملQuark confinement and the renormalization group.
Recent approaches to quark confinement are reviewed, with an emphasis on their connection to renormalization group (RG) methods. Basic concepts related to confinement are introduced: the string tension, Wilson loops and Polyakov lines, string breaking, string tension scaling laws, centre symmetry breaking and the deconfinement transition at non-zero temperature. Current topics discussed include...
متن کاملQuark Confinement in a Constituent Quark Model
On the level of an effective quark theory, we define confinement by the absence of quark anti-quark thresholds in correlation functions. We then propose a confining Nambu-Jona-Lasinio-type model. The confinement is implemented in analogy to Anderson localization in condensed matter systems. We study the model's phase structure as well as its behavior under extreme conditions, i.e. high temperat...
متن کاملQuark Confinement in Unusual Environments
We consider the properties of l-dimensional gauge field-theories at finite temperatures and densities. The massive Schwinger model in the presence of a uniform charge background is shown to form a Wigner crystal which Debye screens charged impurities. The two species Schwinger model with oppositely charged fermions is studied at finite baryon density. This system does not undergo a phase transi...
متن کاملOn Quark Confinement
A sufficient condition for the confinement of quarks is presented. Quarks are shown to be unobservable. Colour singlets are however, observables. The results of deep inelastic scattering are discussed. We argue that QCD does not exhibit a deconfining transition.
